Morning Mr Ed,

That cat is remarkably similar to my old cat...and that baseball bat explains a lot now I think about it.

Also you need to desperately watch a TV show I just discovered. I got it on DVD as its a few years old, FIREFLY. Its genius. Its a Sci Fi show with a good dry wit. Basically its bit like the wild west frontier in space. It spawned the movie Serenity, but I think the TV show is better. It has such classic lines as;

maybe you don't know about the chain of command, its a chain I go fetch and beat you with until you realise I'm in command.

If you can find the DVD set online for about £20 I'd recommend you get it.

Anyway, take it easy mate.

Ed, I don't see anything here - it's just a black area under the title.

Hi Ash, hi Jo,
I'll consider the DVD, I'm still gun shy after Heroes turned out to be duller than paint drying.

Jo, have you ever had problems with you tube in the past?
Try turning the computer off and on again.
Ha! I.T. support? Any fool can do it.
As I have just demonstrated.
It's a shame if you can't see this VERY cute cat.

oooooooo, how dare you bismirch Heroes. Its slow granted, but its phenominol. Christopher Eccleston, Malcolm McDowell, George Takei, hidden codes about cult sci fi shows, like blade runner, Syler being cast as the Young Spock alongside Simon Pegg as the young Scottie....What more can a sci geek like you ask for.

A girl who repeatedly gets broken and fixes herself, a man who generates heat to nuclear levels, a time traveling/teleporting Japanese man whose dad is involved in some far greater story.

Well if your not up for playing the long game with Heroes Firefly may suit you more, they are shorter shows, and cos you would have them on DVD you don't have to wait 21 weeks to see the full story.

here is the outlne of the show from Amazon.

Set five centuries in the future, it is a show where the mysterious personal pasts of the crew of the tramp spaceship Serenity continually surface. In fact, it's a Western in space where the losers in a Civil War are heading out to a barren frontier. Mal Reynolds is a man embittered by the war, yet whose love of his comrades perpetually dents his cynicism--even in the 14 episodes that exist we see him warm to the bubbly young mechanic Kaylee, the preacher Book, the idealistic doctor Simon, even to the often demented River, Simon's sister, the psychic result of malign experiments.

Firefly is also about adult emotional relationships, for example Kaylee's crush on Simon, the happy marriage of Mal's second officer Zoe and the pilot Wash, the disastrous erotic stalemate between Mal and the courtesan Inara. Individual episodes deal with capers going vaguely wrong, or threats narrowly circumvented; character and plot arcs were starting to emerge when the show was cancelled. Fortunately, the spin-off movie Serenity ties up some of the ends; and in the meantime, what there is of Firefly is a show to marvel at, both for its tight writing and ensemble acting, and the idiocy of the executives who cancelled it.

Trust your instincts, or find the episodes online, I'm sure someone will be file sharing them.

Later dude (rant over)

Ok, I'm not as verbose as Ashley, but I do want to say that I'm very glad it was not the cat that got smacked.

Look dude, Heroes is good, I'll agree, some wonderful charicters (my fave is Hiro), but and this is a very BIG BUT.
It's so efin' ssslllllooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwww.
It's like Paul Robeson on dope, and that my friend is why I haven't watched it in weeks.

I've had Serenity on DeVeDe for a while, utterly enjoyable. But Heroes is a bit too slow at the best of times. I know, I know... character developmeent an' all that. But I think they're taking the piss a bit now! DO SOMETHINGG, PLEASE!

Not as cute as my two kitties - we've only just stopped locking them in the kitchen overnight, but still won't let them in the bedroom ... Clio likes to lick your armpits ... ack!

Heroes slow? Crumbs. Last night was slow, but there were lots of interesting flashbacks. Other than that it's been pretty fab - and I'm definitely not a comic/hero geek. Big D has been raving about it and claiming it to be more X-Men than the X-Men. What do I know?!

I think your thread go hijacked Ed! ;)
